FKK @ HCOE - Invitation to All

As a continuation of monthly open source discussion programming organized at various institutions on the behalf of FOSS (Free and Open Source) Nepal Community, this time, HCOE Developers' Circle is going to host FOSS Ka Kura a.k.a FKK.

With extraordinary talks on FOSS applications and their developments along with related things by experts, enthusiasts and FOSS advocates, the event has long history and was already organized in Himalaya College of Engineering (HCOE) before few years.

The program is not only limited to discussions on FOSS applications, Localization, Open Source, Linux, etc. but also a warm welcome to first year student on our awesome community - HCOE Developers' Circle apart from talks on contribution to open source project, cryptography and presentation skill development sessions.

Past FKK events

Happy Second Anniversary Mozilla Nepal

Two years ago i.e. on August 26th 2012, Mozilla Nepal community was formed at FOSS Nepal office aiming to establish contribution for making better web and assist for development of mozilla products. It all started with the belief on power of open internet and has crossed 1500+ facebook group members and alot of active volunteers.

Till this wonderful, magical, celebratory occasion, the official representative of Mozilla in Nepal full of open source enthusiasts has conducted various events like webmaker party, firefox student ambassador program and various meetups.

If you want to contribute for making internet better via mozilla, there are various fields of contribution like: Helping Users, Testing and Quality Assurance, Coding, Marketing and Evangelism, Localization, Add-ons, Visual Design, Developer Documentation, Accessibility, Systems Administration, User Research, Education and many more.

Last but not least many, many congratulations to Mozilla Nepal on 2nd Anniversary from HCOE Developers' Circle and from me personally too. It feels proud to be associated with the community and  involving with great hearted members.

Thanks for Making Workshop a Success !!

Thanks to all who joined us and turned the Workshop on Photoshop event a grand success. Our biggest thanks goes out to Anup Ghimire for sharing knowledge on photoshop despite his busy schedule. And a deep gratitude to all volunteer friends.

The idea of organizing the event came just a week before at our 11th meetup. Kuber Sodari, a photography enthusiast and member of HCOE Developers' Circle since long time expressed interest to share his knowledge on photoshop which could help to explore more ideas for designs and also enhance creativity. Then we decided to organize the event soon and came up with proposal which the faculty department accepted without second thought.

Though the event started some minutes late than scheduled, it got smooth with fun, knowledge and enjoyment that kept on adding enthusiasm to participants, tutor and we organizers too. As that was a beginners workshop, our tutor started from basic stuffs of photoshop and got to some deep steps also which was enjoyed by all. But its not that much easy task to play with these things. It needs some more tries which we hope all the participants will do. We will update some tutorials here soon.

Such a events are essential to boost the experience and expand the horizon of knowledge. Keeping view on that, we have been organizing meetups since a year. If you are thinking of sharing some techie stuffs or hoping events to happen on specific topics, please suggest us or post in the group. Your words will be highly appreciated.

We are always looking for ways to improve the community culture and enhance networking too. Feedback and suggestions are always welcomed.

Workshop on Photoshop

HCOE Developers' circle is going to organize a free Workshop on Photoshop to help students learning and gaining their knowledge on photoshop. So, every interested students from Himalaya College of Engineering (otherwise pre registration required) are welcomed to the event.
A well known photographer Anup Ghimire would be tutor.
